World Bank panel: Wolfowitz broke rules

By JEANNINE AVERSA, AP Economics Writer

WASHINGTON - A special panel has found that World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz broke bank rules in arranging a pay package and promotion for his girlfriend, a person familiar with the report said Monday.

=====================

I'm sure this will take Wolfowitz down a few pegs by his eventual removal from his World Bank post. However, like nailing Al Capone for tax evasion after years of murder and thuggery, knocking Wolfowitz out of a position of public power for something as stupid as securing a plum job for his main squeeze when he was directly responsible for such larger disasters affecting millions of people just fails to satisfy.

Maybe he'll go into the private sector now. If fate had a sense of irony and dark humor, maybe he could be made Executive Vice President of a bank...

...The First National Bank.

...Of Iraq.

At the office located at the corner of Main St and Jihad Avenue, just outside the Green Zone.

Should be a pretty lucrative job. I hear the economy is BOOMING in Iraq.

No?

Oh, my mistake. I guess that's just the roadside bombs.
